Description
Azores, Terceira island. Another of those chapels called "imperios" (empire). Nothing much inside, just a small base with a statue of the virgin.
The Azores seemed rather well off to me. Not wealthy, but well off. Population has almost halfed with the emigration (Canada and US mainly), resources are more balanced (cattle, agriculture, fishing), money sent back by the emigrants helps, tourism helps, and the European Community has poured in lots of money, that seems to have been rather well spent
