Description

If you didn't see yesterdays upload, that one explains the title. This is the Mural that I worked twice as long as I wanted to... paid half as much... didn't take into account I was going to be on a ladder the whole time...I'm happy with it, However, with it being so big, I want to continue to paint more detail into it... on a big project like this, you've got to know when enough is enough, unfortuneately, I was just so excited about the opportunity, I didn't take into account quite a few things.... One of my problems I encountered was the proof of this showed half as many grapes... after measuring the design out, I realized the grapes would be bigger than golf balls - making the grapes actual size meant I had to do 3 times as many. I have not counted the grapes, but I know there are over a thousand... It took days alone just to do the grapes... all and all, The customer is happy and I am happy.... I just need to keep reminding myself something good may come from this - it is like a giant billboard with my name on it advertizing.... I did have lots of people tell me they had projects for me, but none have come through so far... This project is like a trophy for me, because I haven't painted in so long. the last couple years I've spent my time in this 3D world and my air compresser has been in storage or the pawn shop... I truely am a starving artist - lol The idea was first brought to me as a picture that was found on the net. It was a square picture that just showed the wall, table, chairs and vines... since it was square, I had to come up with the other three quarters of the picture (the wall is 20x6ft). that is why the image is flipped to the other side. then, I had to come up with only half the picture, the vineyard, houses, wishing well and grape boarder were my idea. Sorry about the quality of the picture, I had to play with the image several times to get it to load into my gallery - and on top of that, my camera is a free digital camera that I got for opening up an account at a bank - cheap - lol hope you like it, all comments and critisizm are encouraged. Thanks for taking a look.

Amazing work!! Simply awesome! Hell, I hate painting the walls a single color with a roller! I can't imagine what it must have been like working on something like this! Truly a work of art in every sense of the word!

You mean they actually expected you to paint above that bottle rack? That's bloody nearly impossibe. I hope you have a good back- bending over all that time. I fell of a roof some years ago and bust mine so couldn't do jobs like that any more. Hence my foray into 3D / work on the net. My paints have dried up as well as the compressor! Bloody good mural. The grapes must crop up in your dreams I bet. Excellent work!

an awesome job you did on this mural, a lot of work with a steady hand and eye... interesting composition, perspective and scale.. and how the tables mirror each other.

When saw your first post of you on the ladder, all I could think of was "Damn, that looks REALLY uncomfortable!!" The detail in this is wonderful, your eye is lead right into the scene. And yeah, twice the work for half the price, ain't is always so??!! BTW, it IS SICK!!!!!
