Description
Carnival glass was an inexpensive pressed glass used for functional or ornamental objects and was produced extensively in the early 20th century in the US, Britain, Australia, several European countries and Asia.
The Fenton Art Glass Company was the first and also the largest producer of carnival glass.
The glassware received its irridescent sheen from the application of metallic salts while the glass was still hot prior to pressing...a process known as 'doping.'
