This is a first for me. I have tried a number of time to capture an image of one of these Ruby Throated Hummingbirds but with no success. I do not put out feeders for them so I see very few and they don't stay still for long, lol.
This weekend, I visited a neighbor and they do put out feeders. Lots and lots of feeders. There must have been at least 50 of these little hummers in a swarm around some of them at any one time. I just stood next to a feeder , focused on it and waited just a minute or so until the birds felt secure enough to return.
It was a surreal experience, lol. I have never before stood in the middle of a swarm of Hummingbirds. They were everywhere and constantly twittering. I took a number of pics but this was the best. I may go visit again very soon and try to get a few more shots before they all leave for the season.
The neighbor thinks he has 3 or four different species that visit his feeders and will not accept the fact that they are all Ruby Throated ones. I tried explaining that some looked different than others because some were males, some were immature males, some were females, and some were immature females. Theses are females. I think the pinkish color on their breasts and wings is a result of color reflections off the feeder. The true color is much more white.
All the research I have done, indicate that we only have one species that breeds here and although it is possible to find a rare individual from another species, it is very very unusual.
BTW - I attempted to upload files for a digital calendar that I am putting up for sale here at RR, but I have run into some problems and am waiting for RR staff to set me straight. More on this as soon as I find out something.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

What an outstanding shot this is! I put out feeders and I know how hard they are to photograph. Great capture.
i love this shot my husband has been going out and standing by our feeders and they are finally getting use to him, but i'm not fast enough with the camera. great shot **********************************************************************************************************************

Great capture. I´m sad that we don´t have such beauties here in germany.
Marvellous! I'd be absolutely over the moon with this shot! I don't do birds much as they are so hard. Beautiful, Lee!
Wonderful capture...bravissimo!:DDD.Hugsxx
This is one of my dreams, I have never seen a hummingbird only on T.V. or in books. I would love to one day get to see them and photograph there amazing colours and flight. This is a gem, Lee Great 2 for 1 shot!
Sounds like they are heading to Texas....excellent shot!

Amazing shot!!
What a shot to catch these colorful and rare birds in mid air. Well done, Lee!
very well caught !
I know its not the behaviour exhibited here but my first thought is "how romantic!" This is a terrific shot. My hummers didn't come around much this year. Usually they are at the feeders non-stop but I've only seen one or two. Great clarity and I can't wait to see this calendar you're doing.
Excellent..
Gorgeous capture. Splendid shot. Bunny
wow, good job Lee! That one looks like it's a very socialable one too! lol I was just thinking yesterday, while watering some of my hanging baskets, and looking at my hummingbird feeder.. I haven't seen a one this year :( You are blessed. :)
All I can say is get a couple of feeders up Lee, why travel to your neighbour's place when you can sit on your porch? Then again I don't know what sort of regime you have to get into once you start feeding them. Excellent capture, like kward I have only seen them on TV and in books, never the real deal. These are a couple of beauties. Bravo!!!!! Why are most of the feeders I see bright red? Is it to represent a flower?
Fantastic! This is something I have been trying for all summer, with no luck. I will keep on trying... Your photo is wonderful encouragement, it can be done! (I'm gonna get feeders).
