Description
Puh, this was a hard one to create. It needs more than 15 hrs. render time.
Last weekend, I purchased that wonderful outfit Snow bride from Lady Littlefox at Runtime DNA.
This outfit comes with fur for poser. So, in DAZ Studio, there is no fur simulation, and I was thinking what to do. But, hey, there is still carrara on my hard disk, so it was time, to use it again. And so, I was able, after some experimenting, to create a nice fur on this outfit!
Then, I played with DOF in Carrara. This post processing DOF of Carrara is for no use, so I tried the ray traced DOF. Wonderful, that was the thing I want. So, some nice lights putting in my scene, settings the AA to very high, and then the rendering started. And I had to wait 15 hrs. So, I learned, fur, ray traced DOF and very high AA is a real crusher in Carrara. :)
But I think, it was worth it, and I hope you all will like this picture too.

Excellent work. The fur looks so real and nice DOF. I know the limitations of D|S too well. But I love the speed in which I can set complex scenes up in D|S.
Wish they could fix those G-Buffers to be antialiased some day, something that bryce could do like 10 years ago... The raytraced DOF is really nice (as we can see in this image) but the rendertime... omg! As you said the fullsize is worth it ; awesome work all the way!

Yes I have to say this is totally wonderful. The fur looks totally real, so soft and plush. I can see with each hair being so defined and with a ray trace turned on this would take forever in any program. It would drive me crazy but in the end the affect was worth it. I would have this framed and hung in my studio if I did such a piece. Smirnoff vodka would probably pay a good price for such a piece of work ;-)
