Description

Tropical gardens, south of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I saw some of the MOST interesting plants and these were right up there at the top of the list. I think they're a kind of succulent, and they are just the trippiest looking things!! It was hard not to grab one and stash in my backpack, but going to jail for a tiny little plant, especially a Mexican jail~~~~nope, not such a good idea!!

The Federales are intercepting even now. Fortunately there is no innocence only unproveable guilt.

I always had to watch my mother when ever we went into a tropical plant place, she was always nipping a shoot off the plants that she liked. She used to just nip them out with finger and thumb put them in her pocket or handbag and then growing them at home in her greenhouse. She never pinched a whole plant I give her that but the shoots she had away with her. Excellent capture Marilyn, beautiful colours and textures. Bravo!!!!!

And as I recall, the pitcher plant fills with water, bugs fall in and drown and the protein is obsorbed by the plant. I've never seen one but I've read about them. Excellent capture and find.

These plants are interesting, to say the least. Ever look inside them? LOL They contain all of the critters they have captured to feed on.

Super and colourful shot. One of our local nurseries had a mouse die in one of these and stink the place out!

I've seen these carnivorous plants in green houses over here in France but never so far, in their natural environment. Amazing and beautiful capture!

yeah, they are quite the interesting things arent they. i wonder how that works out. the plant collects water from it's little leaf growth there? i think a few others on here have said it, but the coloring on here is good. the different texture tones are cool. i love the bark. and the silky green leaves at the left. the big ones. very cool. well captured Mo!

Oh no, why did I think of little league baseball when I saw your title? Raw textures in this stellar composition of the unusual looking flowers or gourds in this fine shot, Marilyn!
