Description
Of the approximate 16 sunflowers I planted, this is the only one that survived the squirrels playing. I took this about 7 AM and it was light out but not enough when using the macro setting. But I rather liked the dark background that brought this title to mind. She will open and shine very soon!
Thanks for looking and for previous comments!

Beautiful greens to this one Lynn, ans a nice title too!
i agree! Great time to shoot this!
Excellently done and yes I think the dark background is making it even more striking. Hope you will take a similar shot when it is open. :)
i`ve never had much success with sunflowers .they always end up puny specimens and nothing like the great giants you see :o)..personally i think the lighting does this more justice ,makes it stand out more mick
great contrast ! Nice compo. I hope we will see the flower fully developped on your gallerie !
Excellent capture - so glad to hear that one survived the squirrels. Can't wait to see the full bloom!
Fascinating shot. Unusual to see this powerful lighting - makes a great shape and takes it right out of context. Sort of 'Day of the Triffids'.
Lovely shot!
