Description
Hello all ~!
Back from my visit at my Mom's house in Mi.
Had a wonderful relaxing stay with her at her beautiful new home and celebrated her 70th B-day.
The second week into my visit we took a drive to Nappanee ,Indiana Amish country where it seems time has stopped from over a century ago and a simple life is preserved- a life nearly forgotten in today's fast paced world. We visited an Amish farm and went to see a play Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical, Carousel there. Had a great time and took lots of pics of the farm . It started to rain mid afternoon and I got completly drenched taking pictures lol . So when we were driving home my Mom stopped to get gas . I ran behind the gas station to capture the rainbow over the Amish farm and fields of corn , just my luck there was an Amish buggy and horse there! The sky and light were amazing and I hoped my Mom didn't mind me taking off on her. The farmer in suspenders and tall muddy boots( reminded me of a civil war outfit in fact) then return to his buggy (with his lunch from the gas station store) . I was surprised he actually said hi to me when I pointed at the rainbow above -he was so friendly ! Puzzled by his greeting as Amish usually do not talk to the "English" ,I asked the bearded farmer if he was Amish. He said "Nope , you see I bought this here rig from the Amish farm next door I told myself if and when gas got over 3 bucks a gallon I would up and buy me a horse and buggy, not gonna pay those prices". Then he said, " saves money, why don't you get one"? , I replied uhm great idea would love to have a horse but I don't think that horse and buggy would do very well on the southern Cal freeways !!!" LOL!!!!
Have missed you all will try and get caught up on comments soon ( will be harder though my Mom got me these long fingernails almost impossible to type with :oO) ...
Love to ALL!!!

Oh my gosh! What a fabulous shot! Kimmie, this is one of those once in a lifetime shots! Hilarious narrative, not many people would have the nerve to actually hold true to their word like that! A terrific image, I am always amazed at the uniqueness and beauty of your photography!!!
Seems very unreal this colours.. You´re so lucky. Congratulations
Wonderful composition!
So stunning capture/composition! Hugs and have a nice week end Lior
I've seen both your work and your loving comments many times, but because I'm only here on certain days, I've never made a formal visit. Well, this is my first and it won't be my last! I have to tell you: I lived in Indiana (I was at the Ind. Univ. School of Music for a year), and I saw some beautiful scenes...but lord, this one is out of this world. Not just the rainbow which shoots down like you had it pose there, but the clouds themselves. The lighting in the grass & along the edge of the road is painterly, and the texture of the road is exquisitely nuanced. It has a painterly feel that's both soft & explosive at the same time; it's a real symphony. Yet somehow you got the carriage in such fine detail it looks as if we're looking at the actual object. Tons of stuff happening in your photographic eye. I'll return...
This is Amazing!!
Awesome work Kimmers (as always.) And thanks for this wonderful trip to the wonderful world of frugality. :-) Perhaps I should trade my bicycle in for a horse. LOL

So gloriously beautiful. It looks like God showed out a little for you on this day. It just couldn't be more spectacular.
Marvellous colors. A successful pict, for textures (of clouds and grass, too.
Amazing image and fantastic shot!
very cool work, maybe a 'lucky' compo but excellently realised with some nice work done to it =)
You have a supreme gift to make an image something special!!
The CAPTURE of the YEAR!
i am breathless and pleasantly shocked by this, fantastic!!!
Excellent work.
Wow!!!! A most fantastic capture!! I'd like a horse and buggy, too, with these gas prices. Maybe a donkey with donkey cart would do. I wouldn't mind. I may even keep it off the freeway, though!!
