Description
Another new squirrel on the block, there are now three black squirrels..the big one I posted before and two 'babies'. This one came up on the porch where I was sitting and inspected the strawberries and potted plants, then just sat a minute looking at me. It was like he was trying to decide whether to come closer, go in the kitchen or just wait to see if I offered something. He decided to leave when a gray squirrel started up behind him. Info below is from Wikipedia:
Black squirrels are a melanistic (pigmentation) phase of the eastern grey squirrel. They are common in Midwestern North America and, in some places, outnumber the grey squirrels by a ratio of about ten to one.
