Description
I went back to the place I shoot the photos of the planting of the sugar cane and it was late as the shadows was long. The shadows is comeing from trees across the road and on the field. I wish to ge the moon in the shot too so here it is.
have a lovely Sunday. Remember there a time to plant and a time to harvest.
The cane you see in the background will be harvest from Oct. to Dec. I not sure how the fields that is harvest get the cane back in the fields for I see them full every year. I know it time to plant now.. In front of the mill you see the top of a old bridge I have posted the bridge a long time ago like last year; with smoke comeing out the chimmey

I have just been checking out sugar cane on Wikipedia Jocko, there is some interesting reading on there, I have put a link on the end of this comment. I never gave sugar cane a thought until you posted your first image on here. Wikipedia says that you can get several harvests out of one planting, before having to replant with new cane. It's been a great series Jocko and more than a few of us has learnt something new from it. I hope you manage to get inside the plant to get some more shots of the actual proscessing of the cane. that would be interesting to see. Excellent work, most enjoyable. Bravo!!!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugar_cane
Good image to illustrate your write-up. I enjoy your words as much as your images.

superb landscape Jock
I've learned a lot from these sugar cane postings, thanks Jock. This is a wonderful capture! it feels like it's taken just at that time of evening when it seems everything gets real still, you might hear a bird or two, the wind dies down, the earth pauses and then breathes again. Beautiful.
The man in the moon is looking down on work well done. A wonderful series Jocko. I love the quiet evening lighting in this one with the shadow creeping across the field.
Very cool shot Jock and I love how you got the moon in it too. Well done.
Stellar series on the evolution of the humble sugar cane, Jock! But diabetics take care!
Beautiful clarity and depth and getting the moon in, too was great. It's very a very interesting series, well done, Jock!
Fantastic mood. There's so much hopefulness when the rows are all planted and the farmers are bone-weary at the end of the day.
