the photo i meant to use yesterday, it's of a replica of a pointer boat and a timber raft. logger's eat, slept on the rafts and by day worked in the boats during the log drive. it must of been a very tough life.

The raft is definitely impressive in this shot. I used to try making small rafts on the creek where I lived as a kid. Good thing the water was only a foot deep or I would have drowned. LOL This is a great view of two historic logging transports. Mostly we see the trains and trucks around here.
I own a book titled "Lumberjack at Thirteen" and it is from around the 1900 era, written by a man from my home town. Hard life and very real lessons were learned young. Excellent photo of a time forgotten
