Well, not quite titans, but you get the idea. I had debated adding fire to this render, but then decided that would be the norm for a shot like this. And lets face it, if dragons existed fire would be a last resort as it would take lots of feeding and a good metabolism to create say hydrogen with the use of magnesium as a catalyst, or if you go reign of fire way and have oppoite chemicals in seperate glands that when secreted meet a dozen feet or so in front of its head and ignites--don't know if there are chemicals that can do that, but hey--either way it would be costly to expell unless needed.
That is of coarse if dragon's were animals. In most fantasy they are magical beings and then all the above tripe means nothing. But then I tend to lean towards realism in my fantasy (There is I think about three of us in the world that do, including George R. R. Martin, tee hee)
Anyways, would be better with riders on their backs, and maybe lances (saddle is in the works, as is armor for both dragon and mike 3--but that is not on the front burner either.) Just thought I'd post this anyways. I have another angle I may post too. I really like both.

A really great scene. Love the poses for both dragons. Wonderful mountain backdrop for their fight too. Great explanation regarding how dragons breath fire. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing!
I'm more of a realist when it comes to fantasy as well. I never really considered dragons to be magical. To me, they were always meat and bones. The other view about dragon fire, is that they have honeycomb cavities lining their inner stomach that when mixed with the hydrochloric acid from their digestive system, creates hydrogen. The stored hydrogen helps to keep them aloft while in the air and they only spew it out, which ignites by a catalyst in their mouth, in times of defense or aggression. I think this is an awesome image. I really like the way the light plays out behind them and accentuates their veiny wings. Great work yet again. (still waiting for that tutorial).

Looks fantastic! I can not imagine any dragon worth anything allowing sadles and riders - not to mention that there own weaponry are far more dangerous. Can see the dragon.. you just go ahead and put a saddle on and I will ride you about. Like Foreermyt and yourself I agree with a realistic fantasy - even magic has to have a cost/price and reason dejur. No reason for the free ride when there is plenty else to chose from. EWS
