Yesterday's critter was the larva of one of the Hoverfly species "Pseudodoros clavatus". These larvae are about 7-12 mm long and are found from coast to coast in North America. It is the only North American species in the genus Pseudodoros.
It will grow up to be a little wasp looking Hoverfly with a black body having some white rings. BTW - Andrea (durleybeachbum) was spot on with her ID.
Today’s critter is an adult male and I will disclose its identity tomorrow.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

...was für ein "Monster"! Noch nie gesehen!!! Wundervoll scharfe Aufnahmen von diesem ungewöhnlichen? Insekt!
I can't identify it but it sure is a great capture, excellent close-up photography. Tony :-)
a booklouse? or a grasshopper or a katydid?
I feel it's Orthoptera order, but it is completely strange with that long backside. Very interesting!!
nice collage...
Very nice!
I would have said some sort of cricket but the hind legs aren't strong enough, as Andrea says, very interesting, I will have to wait until tomorrow though. Bravo!!!!!
Great shot. Thanks for sharing.
Nice shots
No idea, but just to be different I'm gonna guess something from the order Heteroptera. Oh, and nice captures.
This looks to be something from the katydid family... one of the smaller species. Excellent capture. Bunny
Leafhopper. :-) I have this theory that worked pretty well in high school on my pop quizzes... repeat the same answer each time and the law of averages says you will eventually run into the question that has that for an answer. So...I say leafhopper...again. :-)
great macro work... perfection at its best
I am thinking some kind of grasshopper? So far, I'm 2 for 2... lol. As in wrong answer :) Nice shots and fun.
Beautiful image, Excellent well done..
