Description
Hello All!!!
Here is one of my photo arts / smudge painting - lots of hand painting with a mouse and smudging over a pic i took last week of my daughter Janel and new cocker Moby ( done in paint shop) . Haven't done this type of photo art works in a while so played with this this weekend as I have had a few requests for this style lately.
Sometimes Moby gets sad when Candi( our other cocker spaniel) growls at him to put him in his place but Janel ( or Nellie as we call her) is always there to give reassuring hugs and love to make him feel better. I have lots up in my gallery of Janel and Candi but not one of her and Mo so thought this pic was cute of them . Didn't like the quality of the picture as it was takin' in low light so tried to draw it out with my post work .. spent a long time playing with this one so figured i better put it up before I over do it ...
I know there are allot of purist photographers that are not into this sort of thing but i am a painter and photographer so now and then like to blend the two mediums ...hehe and hey its just so much fun to play !!!
Thanks for your time and comments!!!
Love to all !!!

How absolutely adorable!!!
Such a magnificent portrait. It belongs on the wall. Your little girl isn't so little any more, Kimmers! She is turning into a beautiful young woman.
I don't know how you do such beautiful work with a mouse. That's like Rembrandt painting with a 3" house brush. Beautiful work Kimmers.
The postwork is wonderful amd your frames are always a treat!!
This is very pretty. Nice image. I wish I could paint like that. You really did a great job painting over this photo. Very cute.
Kimarie, it's beautiful. You know, the whole dialogue between analog & digital photographers has really missed a point: You work with whatever your eye calls you to work with. It's not a strict photograph: It's a photograph-painting (though I'm sure you have a better word, as I'm only partly familiar with smudging). You've rendered your daughter with the subtlest painterly hues—she has a presence of light almost as much as body. Skin becomes a musical flow from tone to tone, hair's almost whispered on, the dog's highlights appear as soft 'presences', and so on. Yet the overall has something that your other work has: that powerful presence of someone or something emerging to us with totality. Janel & Moby not only capture the light, but give it out. Your chiaroscuro (excuse such an old term) is quite sensuous; your earth tones, beautiful; and the overall feel is one of softness and love with inner power. I really feel that. Also, anyone who's worked with digital transformation knows it's easy to get tons of effects—it's a flick of the wrist. But It's hard to produce a beautiful work. You've done the latter. A beautiful capture of living souls you love, and ultimately it's quite touching...
Lovely work !!!

I like this pic!
Excellent! I have attempted this type of graphic, and it is a lot of work. :c)
Hallo Kimarie, wow, there are -I think- 120 comments before mine, smile. What can I say, what you didn´t hear before? First, it is a wonderful smudging-painting. Well. It is the super-smudge! The dog and the girl are wonderful, it is a painting for the wall. The highlights in the eyes are superdone. The fur, the hair. I stop, before I go to pinch it, smile. And gratualation. You do this without a graphic tablett, only with the mouse. Wow. Your way is hard, not very simple. All the best, a new fan of your gallery, Bernd from Germany
wow!
