Description
During our travel in Cuba, we were more and more stunned. We tried to have as much contacts as we could with the Cuban people (we were always billeted in private houses, except in Habana), and we noticed that life in Cuba is very different from the all-made ideas that we could have in Europe. The buildings have suffered from lack of maintenance. But, as this picture shows, the public authorities have decided to repair or to reconstruct many old buildings, and this situation is very frequent, especially in Habana. Moreover, Cuba is an island of which many sites are classified in the World’s Patrimony of the UNESCO. As always your comments will be greatly appreciated.
Lors de notre séjour à Cuba, nous sommes allés d’étonnement en étonnement. Nous avons essayé d’avoir le plus possible de contacts avec les habitants (nous avons toujours logé chez eux, sauf à la Havane), et nous avons constaté que la vie à Cuba était assez éloignée des idées reçues que nous pouvions avoir eu en Europe. L’architecture a parfois souffert du manque d’entretien. Mais, comme cette image le montre (et la situation est très fréquente, surtout à La Havane), les autorités ont décidé de restaurer, voire de reconstruire un grand nombre d’anciens immeubles. Cuba est d’ailleurs une île dont nombre de sites sont classés au Patrimoine Mondial de l’UNESCO. Vos commentaires seront, comme toujours, les bienvenus.

A regarder de près cette photo au sujet impressionnant, et en lisant ton commentaire, les clichés sur Cuba commencent à voler en éclats sur cette île partagée entre une révolution moderniste et le poids d'un régime communiste moribond.(Et la salsa dans tout ça?!)En tout cas, cet échafaudage gigantesque manifeste une volonté d'en finir avec un passé un peu lourd à porter, j'imagine...Excellentes photo et présentation, Marie-Thérèse!

I have heard that rebuilding is occuring in Cuba. This is wonderful since there is so much there that is worth saving. Excellent shot of this scaffolding.
Unne bonne composition, un sujet intéressant et (coup de chance ?) un ciel d'une très jolie couleur. Au total, un aspect général très agréable à l'oeil mais auquel j'aurai sûrement ajouté un peu d'espace en bas pour voir le sol. Mais ce n'était peut être pas possible.

Oui CUBA une Ile Majestueuse (Endroit trè prisé des Canadiens pour les vacances)...malheureusement les américains ont ralentis leurs dévelloppement social (crise 1963) Ils ont libéré BERLIN à quand CUBA?
