Description
At nights, the entry of lava into the sea radiates a beautiful sight. It just draws you closer and closer to get a better look. But the danger of the plume, exploding lava and fragile bench is there. I'm well aware of that and stayed back at a safe distance. On our return and keeping an watchful eye on my wife so she comes home safely, I tripped, fell face down, broke my front tooth and got a bloody fat lip. With all the Judo training and experience I had, I didn't break my fall. My pride was broken but at least my camera is safe.....Whew!!! Aloha and thank you for viewing.

wow! Was für eine Farbenpracht - wenn "sie" nicht so gefährlich wäre!!!
An interesting and wonderous view !!~EXCELLENT~!!
Yikes, sorry to hear about your injuries. I hope you made up a better story than that for everyone at the PO! ;'] Thanks for sharing this dramatic image and stay safe!
LOL@Kort....Mmmmmm....With my reputation, I don't think anyone would believe my story, lol. Will think of a better one....
wow thats so pretty.
Thank you for risking life and tooth to bring us such a beautiful shot. A trip to Hawaii to see an active volcano spewing lava is on my Bucket List. I hope I get that scratched off my list before I "kick the bucket".
This is amazing! Great image!
My word, Errol! Sorry about the bad fall! As barbdennist said, thank you, but we don't expect you to risk life, limb, and pride to bring us these magnificent images! Thank God your cam is okay, and what a terrific shot! Take care!
So easy to forget how dangerous your hike is by sitting in a comfy chair and looking your image but actually is a dare devil stuff what you do Errol and so great you share it with us. Sorry for your injury get well soon. And this is an amzing red glow into the nite.
sorry to hear of your hurts. hope it better now. tell them the truth and they will make up the lies of how you got the broken tooth. as you say they will not beleive the story anyway. I belive you. I wonder how it looks at night thanks
I'm sorry for the fall ... the image is fabulous!!! :)
This is spectacular, Errol! Sorry to hear about your tooth, but at least you saved the camera LOL. It's a lot more likely that your tooth is insured than your camera.
thank goodness you protected your wife and the camera... LOL ABSOLUTELY STUNNING IMAGE!!!
The art of falling...I know it so well. I have learned to jsutu go with it - don't try to be your own hero. :-) I have been known to fall and not ruin the cigarette in my hand. I have fallen and never spilled a drop of my drink. I have also been walking and done nothing at all but ended up breaking my foot - from WALKING! I say, falling and not breaking the camera is as stellar as this shot! LOL
Fantastic shot...I'm sure your wife was able to kiss it all better ;D
Hahaha, oh sorry I laughed at you "with you". And you just told me your legs were tired and sore from the other day's hike. You never learn..... Fantastic shot though. Glad the camera was safe. Aloha
A chipped tooth and a fat lip? A small price to pay for this awesome spectacle...but I feel you pain buddy. I've eaten it a few times on lava, but managed to get one arm down before I hit the ground....still painful! Take it easy and enjoy your images, this ones "KILLER"!! Aloha~
Ouch! Risking life and limb is way beyond the call of duty here! But it's a gorgeous shot, and we are thankful that you do this for us...
Stunning spectacle. I'm very glad your wife and camera are OK :o)

Extraordinary picture...-might be worth of some injury (but you have certainly made more than one photograph)
Awesome shot, can't even imagine what it must have been like in person! You always stress how dangerous it is on the lava, so sorry for your injury! Speedy healing to you~ =)
Sublim red my friend!
Errol,it's an amazing image well spiced with your story. Sorry about the tooth. Hope there's still a lot left, and they do wonders at the dentist's nowadays.
