Description
Nature fascinates me!
The phlox is in bud and is just starting to open, and one shot I took today was cropped to show just the tip. I am both delighted and surprised by how this turned out, by how intricate and endlessly fascinating this simple group of buds is.
Thanks for your visit, (and I do recommend that you zoom in).

I am SHOCKED! I think there are many of you who don't get out too much! I never saw, and still don't see ANYTHING erotic, overtly sexual, or even slightly compromising in this when I posted it, or now. Granted, there's a shape at the tip, but really! (You are all nuts, but I love you all anyway!)

On second thoughts, maybe it's ME that doesn't get out much!

Great shot Chris!!
I read the first comment and laughed to myself. I thought...exotic flower...I think erotic flower. But very interesting and very well photographed. I've certainly never seen a flower like this before.
Beautiful I have never thought of getting a capture of this Our phlox has done bloomed around Ky it was beautiful this spring Hugs Susan~
Chuckles at the comments but I see the rather frisky inferences too..
Buds my eye! Will wonders never cease? A phlox plant with whiskered purple penises (or is that penii?)! Male members if you will. A circumcised delight if you ever saw one! Love this shot with all of its colors, clarity and sexual implications, Chris!
Beautiful capture! Love the color. I have not seen a phlox plant in years. :o)
A beautiful bloom and capture, Chris. I am giggling at the comments. Hugs. Di. xx
