Description
The Great Grey Owl is a strange mix for such a large bird with it's 5 Foot wingspan which is impossible to include if you want a close up of one flying in like this. Despite it large size it is less common in North America and Europe it weighs only 2 to 3 pounds (Being more a ball of feathers)this is less than half of most other similar sized owls, and thus when food is in short supply the females often starve themselves to ensure the chicks are well fed, thus are more prone to such famines, but being such devoted parents so far they seem able to bounce back.
