Description
This little boy looked like he wanted to go in but changed his mind. The lifeguard had just advised swimmers to get out of the water because the undertow was getting too strong. These waves are not particularly big for Waimea Bay, but the undertow can make it treacherous. This picture was taken on 30 October 2005.

Noooo... I would not go in! Wonderful catch, Sig - and good morning! The contrast beween white and black is great and the power of water is outstanding! 5 +
...das sind Wellen! Ein super-schönes Strandfoto von diesen bedruckenden Meer!
Big waves for such a little boy~~the lifeguards made the right decision, undertow can be nasty.
I love the sea in all its manifestations! A great picture! :)
He looks very uncertain an I wonder how long it was before he turned and ran back lol. The surf looks great but I know how dangerous the undercurrent can be. great capture and good light. Thanks Sig!
Excellent shot, fantastic details and beautiful light, my friend
Maybe not little boy!!! The surf looks angry Sig! Great shot and perfectly timed! :)

That would be an emphatic, NO!! Excellent capture!!!!
Wow. Great capture of these awesome waves!
great shot!
a fantastic and powerful image, excellent capture Sig !!
These waves are huge ! I wouldn't go in the water with these waves ! Great shot with a superb contrast. The picture is powerful too !
Once you are throuogh the breakers the rise and fall of the sea is non-threatening. The biggest seas I was ever in were at Padre Island after a hurricane. My experience with the Great Lakes was apparantly sufficent. a little underwater swimming through each breaker and catching your breath between got me out. Doctor's orders.
Klasse diese Brandung! Ich kann sie tosen hören
Those are wonderful waves.. love the light.
Wow! I can't imagine swimming in this, undertow or not! Great shot, Sig.
Not with the camera! Great photograph - impressive surf!
By the time I got out of these I had about a pound of sand in my swimming trunks!!
I dont think going in is a good idea.Excellent capture.
I don't think you would have got me in that never mind that small boy. Mind you I am not a strong swimmer, I can swim but I do not enjoy it, I had a very nasty experience as a child. Excellent capture and the boy and other figures are a good reference for scale. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
Vacation Time is always ~Fun~ But I do hope there was someone watching over this little boy :-} FABULOUS pic!! ^5^
the slope of the beach to the water is a dead (I mean dead) give-away on undertoes. I always stay out of water like this to be sure. Stunning shot.
Very spectacular scene..great capture Sig! :)
