Description
Special -Flowers 3
These are real flowers and a part of a bunch of flowers which was approximately 2 feet tall!!!!!. They look like made from plastic but they are growing and flowering in a pot in one of the greenhouses in the Hortus Botanicus in Leiden!!
There was a name tag, however, checking at home on the Internet, it appeared that the name tag was completely wrong!!!!!!!!!
With other words, I have no idea what kind of plant, flower this is!! At least it is not orange colored LOL see my yesterdays upload!!
This photo has been taken (April 2008) in the historical Hortus-Botanicus in Leiden (founded in 1594), in The Netherlands.
Thanks for your time,
Have a very nice week
Henk

This is enchanting and I hope someone identifies it! Such an unusual color and the shape of the flowers is graceful. A fabulous capture, Henk.
Really special and so beuatiful Henk. Thanks for sharing ;O)
They look like parrot beaks when they are open. Beautiful colors and unusual flower.
Fascinating Henk. If you were not such an honorable member of this community, I would have said that this is plastic. I have never seen anything like this. Truly amazing!!!!! Lekker aand vir jou. Groete, Carin :)
In my prints of old film shot I have this plant, photographed at Kew gardens before I went digi. (I did label it, so one day, if no one has named it by then I may look it out.) Your pic is absolutely perfect, Henk! The colours are shown to perfection, as I remember my print was a bit washed out. Why not email Leiden with a pic and ask them?
Excellent capture.
Fantastic capture. Looks so metalish yet it is real. I am sure it is a great looking in full size too.
