Description
Urdaibai Bio-sphere - Basque Country - Spain
A far view of the town of Kortezubi, at the right is the mountain of Ere�±ozar. Inside of it is the cave of Santimami�±e, similar in importance to Altamira and Lascaux Caves. Discovered in 1916 by a group of playing chidren, soon its cave paintings adquired a great reputation. The paintings are dated in 13.000 years, Magadaleniense Period. Apart from the paintings, the beauty and size of the cave is extraordinary. Now it is closed to visits. I've had the luck to be there twice... when I was a teen and just before the closing.
