Description

Now that summer has officially arrived I tell my kids to get outside and explore! My son found this cute little turtle and could not believe how fast it could travel across the grass. It held still long enough for this photo (either from fright or exhaustion - not sure which) as they had been playing with it for a while. My son let it go in our pond about an hour later. :-) Enjoy the weekend! Jodie Please visit my personal website...

That's a great photo, I love the concentration on their faces. That's a couple of beautiful kids, btw!

Supremely super composition in this magnificent portrait, Jodie! Although not a very ample source of soup from the little guy, being closely scrutinized by your good looking kids. This is a nice sharp picture with excellent lighting effects, which definitely focuses on the turtle.

If someone asked me, "what's Jodie-like about this?" I'd say the wonderful simple composition, your two children in shadow (mostly) making a canopy over the critter; both faces caught in absorption with nothing forced, just absorbed; and the sun-bleached boldness of your daughter's hand. Your bold moments get me everytime. And the turtle has the slightest tad of red (underbelly) which I'd like to think you wanted to catch! Unconsciously? Doesn't matter. Your eye is working for you! It's just enough to meld with the lips and shirt, and I love it. (You could've shot it a second later and missed it, but you didn't.) A quiet hovering shot around a big bright discovery, and a delight. (Is that jodie-like enough, I ask?) (Thank you, I'll be here all week...)

Superb image.... the joys of childhood and the wonders that a child experiences. If only we could hang on to that wonder as adults. Great image!
