Description
Windfarm, Knowl Hill Lancashire UK.
Taken yesterday, June12 2008
We walked right up to them as we hiked our way over Knowl Hill.
They were reconstructing a reservoir nearby, I'll never know how they drain them dry to do that!
Thanks for all comments much appreciated.
Have a great weekend !

These wind turbines are getting rather popular, with the price of energy as it is i am not surprised that people are using them.. great capture Alan, excellent well done..
Really lovely shot.. Great Picture... tell me, is that heather at the bottom ? just curious..
Looks quite impressive in size. Great find and capture!
Very impressive and it loks even better against that dramatic sky... this is definitely something we need to explore and expand on. Nice work...
Beautiful shot :)
Excellent close up Alan, but at that height it still looks along way away. I have yet to get up close to these, they look totally different to the wind farm on the Long Causway. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
Hey! It could be a good picture for a commercial for protecting the environment and renewable energy ! Great shot and superbe postwork ! Congrats on your 200th picture !
A very striking image for your 200th, Alan!
Excellent angle Alan and a very powerful image. (no pun intended) Great work my friend! :)
magnificent capture my friend, the sky and lighting are excellent !!
Great capture Alan, are those things dangerous?, I mean are they quite high? I am assuming they are, and your POV was down the slope a bit, sorry for my ignorance mate, but I don't see these in London (YET!)..Doubtless they will soon join the tide of development taking place here.
Nice shot!
Beautiful capture!
Image is as beautiful as what it represents.
they are popping up all over the place now .i can
nt say they are the most photogenic things but im all for them :o)..love that moody sky alan .excellent mickCalifornia has many windfarms. They are awesome to see - driving through the hills, you might take a turn only to see a huge windfarm with turbines churning together in long, disciplined rows...very impressive sight. This is a wonderful shot!
Wow, huge aren't they? Beautiful shot and thanks so much for sharing this one!

Superb shot we have one in our area that had the foresight to make sure we got the power first so when power went out two winters ago we were back on line in 12 hrs. others had to wait 10 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow - I really like this, just as a piece of art! The light and shadow is beautiful. Great work!
Excellent capture my friend.
WOW! Excellent capture...Beautiful....Jen
Super POV, light, colors and focus!!! 5+++
excellent capture and pov.I have never been close to one erected in a city not far from where I live they make these generators and until you can see a blade on the ground, especially being towed by a truck it is hard to appreciate just how large they are.I wonder how they clear bridges as the diameter of the base must be 12 feet or more and longer than 3 regular trailers
amazing these things are ! wonderdul shot!
There are a lot of these "windmill farms" in California and every time I drive by, this is the foto I want to take!!
Impresionante foto. G. Bossoleti.
Wow great pov of this one, and I love the flowers on the ground up close :-)
Kind of dramatic composition !
