Description
From about a week ago, a peeper macro taken with the flash turned on. I almost never use flash because it tends to both flare out and suck the natural colors out of things, but this time it added a really interesting yellow hue and brought out the colors of the frog and surrounding grass quite nicely. I'll probably do it again, although it's tricky getting just the right distance away.
I've just heard that Valerie Ducom (formerly valouchufy) has died. It seems so unreal. She was a great photographer and dedicated to the community, and I wish I'd gotten to know her better. A horrible shame and no amount of sorry platitudes will make it better.
