Description
In the wild, Red and Black Kites are gregarious and can often be seen nesting and roosting in close proximity to one another. Like other scavengers, kites thrive in areas of human habitation. In his diaries, Samuel Pepys wrote about kites scavenging for food and stealing clothes from washing lines in the streets of London.
One of the star displays at the Hawk Conservancy are a group of Black Kites that are usually joined by some Wild Red Kites that had been released.. They are able to catch dead baby chickens fired from a catapult, as can be seen here, in all the years I have been a member here I have rarely seen them miss.

You've got to be kidding! You managed to get both the food and the bird in flight and neither one touching the other! Amazing and really tells me you are a master at this! The pose is stellar and I love looking closely at the posture displayed. Incredible shot.
