Very art deco...there needs to be more of us space battle renderers. I have trouble making battles too busy myself. The trick is to find one exchange of fire or ship or character to be the clear focus, with everything else being backdrop.

You've got some good ship models, here, plus some good use of DOF. My only complaint isn't so much that it's busy as much as confused. It's hard to tell who's fighting whom. Maybe we need to see who's shooting at whom or something? It looks pretty good, and I have to admit that in reality space battles like this would likely be pretty confusing.
