Description

Back in 1995 whe I had a full beard and dreads, my first child was born, Kyra. The day she was born I was fired from my job labouring for a small country building firm so my lady, my daughter and I moved onto a narrowboat (a 50ft traditional midlands barge) and set off with no particular destination in mind. I was remembering how I felt when I left the Thames river heading west to the Kennet and Avon canal - top of the world - I was in my element. Beautiful image! Very touching story with it. The best images are those that come from the heart, with personal meaning and sentiment. This is certainly key among them. Very nicely done!

Great scene with superb attention to detail. Love the history behind it too, the good old days eh? :)

The water seems so free. Damp mornings eventually air out. Not knowing where you are going leads to a familiar place. What a surprise. Randomness is bounded by free association and guesswork.

Hey! I was the exact same way!! Well, no dread locks. And ... I wasn't on the Thames. Oh, and I never piloted any boats.. I did drive a jet ski.... But ....The feeling was the same... I guess.
