Description
The Snowy Owl is a large, diurnal white Owl that has a rounded head, yellow eyes and black bill. The feet are heavily feathered. A distinctive white Owl, their overall plumage is variably barred or speckled with thin, black, horizontal bars or spots.
Females and juveniles are more heavily marked than males - adult males may be almost pure white, although they have up to three tail bands. Adult females are distinctly barred throughout, and have from four to six tail bands.
Immatures are very heavily barred throughout, and dark spotting may codominate or dominate the overall plumage. Intensity of dark spotting varies with the sex of the immatures, females being the darkest. Juveniles are uniformly brown with scattered white tips of down.

Oh, shes such a beauty! Lea
The face feathers are awesome. Such a fine capture that beautifully shows the feather's texture.
What a stunning capture of this gorgeous bird Danny. Are snowy owls not an endangered species or am I dreaming??
I wouldn't want to get my hand too close to that beak Danny. Fantastic detail, the eye as sharp as can be, top notch photography. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

She's just simply a beauty!! Great capture, and thaks for the info and sharing it with us!
My instant first thought has already been said several times: "She's a beauty." Her face feathers are so fine that they look like fur instead of feathers. Excellent capture, Danny; the detail is spot on.
what a wonderful pose and details, and such a clear eye
Extraordinary capture Great!
Another excellent presentation, great!!
Excellent clarity and lighting Danny. The placement of the eye seems odd for an owl, it could also be the angle. Lovely capture, professionally presented.

Such an amazing looking owl. Magnificent photo with awesome detail.
Siiamo sempre a livello dieccellenza!
beautiful fur and pattern - a lovely bird
The background is perfect. The 3/4s pose of the head really accents those feathers around the beak. The open beak give this some animation as well. Stellar capture of an awesome owl.
