Hard to tell a '56 from a '57. The word is "everybody knew somebody who knew somebody who owned a 56-57 Buick". I did. I remember a mechanic throwing the thermostat across an empty lot. They had problems with engine castings causing problems with coolant flow. That is no doubt not the original engine.
