Description

I do not hope my title is politically incorrect because really, it is not. Contrary, it is a dedication to light skinned Creole piano player Jelly Roll Morton (Ferdinand Joseph Lamenthe) (1890-1941), the composer of among others "Black Bottom Stomp". He was not only famous for his ragtime piano playing, as a bandleader and composer, he also had a reputation as a bragger. One of his statements was that he originated jazz, and of course this was absolute nonsense, he certainly did not. But he was one of the pioneers, that is sure. The picture is another techno and when you have a good look you will see the meaning of the title. Thanks for all views, comments and favs! Great weekend to all.

I can see piano keys, smoky rooms, skin, and elaborate choreography. I love that era of jazz, and this is a wonderful dedication. Your color combinations are great as always. Unusual, well lit, metallic, and classy. It reminds me a bit of Art Deco. I did a little research and found this song on Youtube in case anyone else wants to listen while viewing this lovely piece: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecMA8_JFBLE&feature=related Beautiful! : )

Ed, what a great abstract. I see the title in there, and find this piece of art very enjoyable, and with so many details, and so much to see. Very well done, and a great piece of history with it.
