Description
Mountain Cairn.
Cairn meaning pile of stones.Cairns were originally built as way makers for travellers long before the days of maps and sat nav.
This is actually the Cairn on the top of Hardnott in the Lake District in Cumbria.Shot it on the same day as my last submission.
Never really looked much in colour so changed it to black and white and did some postwork in Photoshop. Not sure if this should have gone in photo manip but in the old days of black and white would you have dared to tell a photographer that a bit of dodge and burn was photo manipulation...I don't think so.

Impressive B/W shot with special mood. Well done!
Absolutely spectacular. You have caught the whole feel of it up there. Going into my favourites.
Superb shot, perfect in B/W :)
Wonderful capture, love the terrain! The B&W is perfect for this! Thanks for sharing and the story behind the image! :)
Impression : lande balayée par le vent où résonnent légendes et mystères de Cornouailles...
Stunning. I can see how it blossomed in b/w from the original color version. Really amazing work here!
Excellent work. Bravo!!!!! ROBY ;o)
Brilliant shot! and of course it's not manipulation, I do so agree with you!
