The form of this sculpture is based on the great
freight shed located on the Vancouver City
Wharf in Coal Harbor about a century ago.
As a half-scale version it recalls the simple
wooden buildings which marked the industrial
activity of the harbour in an earlier era.
The sculpture was commissioned by Grosvenor
Canada Limited through Vancouver's Public Art
Program and donated to the City of Vancouver
upon its completion. It was cast in aluminum at
the Harman Sculpture Foundry.
