A view of the Barbarie Tongue… it was an unforgettable moment! All comments welcome. Now I am preparing my luggage: next Tuesday, I am going with my husband Edouard Elcet and our son Remail to Cuba for two weeks. Wow, the pixels!

Techdata: Nikon D50 with Nikkor 3.5-4.5/18-70 Pro ED at F70mm, 1/350s at f/4.5, ISO 400. Postwork in Photoshop CS3 Extended to increase contrast and saturation (because of the Mauritanian sand floating in the air), plus levels adjustment. After a careful selection of the buildings to avoid their limit with the sky (and therefore a white outline around them), some Sharpness was added with the appropriate Filter.

where ever we live we are usually tied up in our own little world, but when one travels to a culture totally different it is an awakening that all does not march to the same drummer,exceptional ccapture and I hope you take lots of pictures in Cuba, because I will never be able to go

Après une semaine d'absence, je découvre avec ravissement cette dédicace qui m'est adressée. Elle me touche d'autant plus que cette photo suscite, comme on le sait, chez moi un tas de souvenirs et que de surcroîts, cerise dur le gâteau, sa composition est superbe.....mais tu nous en avais déjà donné l'habitude. Ce matin sur Saint Louis a des tonalités qui respectent bien celles de la réalité c'est à dire sans aucune saturation criarde bien tentante quand on a à sa disposition une telle palette de couleurs. Bel équilibre entre l'avant plan constitués de barques typiques du Sénégal (pour le graphisme et les couleurs) et les habitations qui ne sont pas tout à fait celles de l'Afrique centrale et plus vraiment non plus de l'Afrique du nord, de la Mauritanie entre-autre. Bref c'est l'habitat du Sénégal avec une influence certaine de l'Islam. Encore un tout grand merci ! Bon voyage, déjà consommé, à Cuba où cubains, maisons, autos des années 50, paysages sont autant de sujets de photos super graphiques !

Quelles magnifique ambiance et lumière dans ce cadrage. J'ai imaginé même un peintre reprendre cette vue pour en faire un tableau dédié à la lumière équatoriale, et à cette Afrique que tu aimes avec passion.Bravo Marie-Thérèse, il en a de la chance Emile, mais il mérite tout à fait cette marque d'attention.
