"Drifting through the murk, Hazy form with golden glow, Beneath water, tree, sky." ~~~~~
From Wikipedia: "They are believed to have originated from Eastern Asia. Earliest records of Koi have been found in China and have been widely spread in Korea and Japan. The ornamental cultivation of carp flourished under the Chinese Qing Dynasty, Korean Silla Dynasty, and Japanese Edo Period. They are very closely related to goldfish and, in fact, the style of breeding and ornamentation has become very similar, probably through the efforts of Japanese breeders to emulate goldfish. The word "koi" comes from the Japanese, simply meaning "carp." It includes both the dull grey fish and the brightly colored varieties. A homophone of koi means "love, affection" and koi are therefore symbols of love and friendship in Japan." -----

Love it - kind of disorienting at first
Lovely shot !
What a great capture, I like the difusion caused by the water, excellent reflections also!
excellent capture, the color is fantastically brilliant on that koi, great work !!
Oh, how Coy. lol What a great image, Kort. I actually appreciate seeing the reflection of the branched in the water's surface. It gives it another dimension and makes it feel like we're hovering above this pond. :-)
wow, great capture, i like the tree brances refleting on the water
Kort, That is hard to do and you did it well. Congrats!
Their lifespan can be 25 to 35 years. They are quite affectionate compared to their goldfish counterparts. Excellent capture!
Cool image, so much to take in, well done:):):)

Okay on the koi, many photos of which I had posted on my gallery several months ago.
Very interesting shot with the branches reflected over the top of the water and fish.
Wasn't quite sure what I was seeing till my eyes focused in on the fish. Good eye and surprising results. Nice shootin'~ Aloha~
I looked at this and all of a sudden I flipped it. I was under the water looking at the tree overhead and a giant flying fish. What fun!
Excellent! I have tried to do this and couldn't but you've pulled it off!

like a flame...great feel!
Colorful they are. Aloha
I like to watch the koi swim about and sometimes they gulp the air from the surface. So many colors and sizes.
Great shot!!
The very bright glow looks very pleasing as well as the "parched earth" effect of the reflection.
Wonderful image.
Very beautiful and very interesting artwork.
