Description
We were just about to lock into the landing co-ordinates when the first bomb went off.
A blinding white flash followed by waves of heavy turbulence hit us hard. The shielding held up
as it should, protecting the crew from the intense radiation emitted from the explosion.
"Guess the peace talks failed then" said the first officer. " Looks like it " I replied. "Better get back and report,
while we still can"
The peace talks between the Raloug and the Venagh had taken place in neutral Altereian controlled space. System 7 Sector 9
on a long dead planet whose name is totally unpronounceable to us Humans (and not easy to an Altereian either) so there were no casualties other than the 12 members of the peace counsel.
Our mission was only to observe, to bear witness on the proceedings, but whoever set off those nukes didn't want any witnesses left.
Little did we know at that time, someone wanted this war to continue and at the same time wanted us dead!!
So started an episode in the Ral'Ven wars which was to see a new and as yet unknown foe battle for control.

Excellent!!! Great atmosphere and lights!!! Fantastic landscape!!!
You got your Mojo working! wey hey!! Fantastic sci-fi creation Steve and love the story. Speaking of stories, do you have any old Edgar Rice Burroughs paperbacks hanging around. He did some very inspirational work on this sort of theme and I don't mean Tarzan either lol! I had some of his series many years ago, but all gone now and I cannot remember what they were called. Perhaps you may recall some of them as you are a big fan of sci-fi. Excellent work mate. Very well done!
