Ah...connectivity issues and catching up! It's that how it always goes, when you're traveling and seeing/feeling/sensing new and wonderful things?! Your words capture so much, so beautifully. I guess if I were Russian and using a snooty, obscure definition of a rather famous Russian word, I could call you "Moy sputnik," or maybe it's "Moy sputnika," since I'd have to give the name a female ending. I think. Anyway...the snooty, obscure meaning of that word can be translated as "fellow traveler." It's good to read word from a fellow traveler and I'd love to see more. I have a lot of catching up to do anyway, so I'd best get started.

That's very nice, Marilyn, but in your exultation be advised that if you were a woman in India, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, or various other Middle East nations, your status as a person would be greatly reduced, virtually to a state of slavery or second class citizenship, as opposed to what you have here in the good old US of A. Have a good trip!
