Description
To me this is a totally ordinary scene and barely worth notice, never mind taking a picture! However, it sometimes occurs to me that not everyone lives where I live, so I thought I'd show you a little slice-of-life shot.
These divers are getting ready to go out to the underwater park at Edmonds. If you want to know what it looks like down there, I found a YouTube video and there's lots of information about the park on line.
The red buoys mark the location of the park. This shot was taken about 45 minutes after low tide, shortly after noon. At this time of year, the surface temperature of the water is around 45F, and deeper is colder!
I probably wouldn't have noticed these folks, but I had an out-of-town guest (Vaggabondd) and was doing the tour guide thing. It's fun to see your own town through someone else's eyes!
I always forget to take shots like this, because I tend to be more focused on details and angles and light.

yes sites like this I never saw. got to take photos for art reason too. cool
It looks cold out there.... Nice capture. Aloha
Lovely capture of these divers. and interesting info about them.
This is a great image and it's also full of a wonderful sense of anticipation; divers have always fascinated me in many ways; I guess it's because they share a lot in common with astronauts. I love the fact that we have the ability to enter environments radically different than our own, and this image captures that perfectly. I also love the contrast of the softer grays and the crisp, black of the diving suits along with the red buoys. Great, beautifully composed work.
Quite interesting.
Great shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What an interesting park and so beautiful I didn't know it existed. And a great shot of these divers getting ready to go out.
Nice shot Tara, thanks for showing us parts of life around near where you live!
This is so different from your usual fotos, I love it and the info you gave as well, but that water sure looks cold!!
So cold!! I got my certification in Seattle in March several years ago, and the thing I remember most was the cold water and the lack of anything interesting to see. It would have been much more interesting at a water park, even if not warmer.
