Software used: Ulead PhotoImpact 7
Meeto "Og", and his wife, "Wife".
This is a work in progress for some characters I designed last summer. The bottom sketches were done very rough, as a concept, in pencil on paper, and then scanned into PhotoImpact, where I casually airbrushed them to come up with a coloring concept.
The top images, done more recently, are a refinement of them, where I took those same original rough sketches, inked them, erased the extra pencil lines, and then scanned them into PhotoImpact, and used traditional coloring techniques on them to give that "more complete" look.
I think that these sort of belong together, to show how they are evolving.
