Description
This is the old Gardner's cottage part of the long sleeping beauty of the lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall which had survived for over 400 years as part of the Tremayne family estate. In it's heyday employed 22 full time gardeners, who I imagine would have warmed their hands on that fireplace in winter, or made a brew of tea.
When World War I started in 1914, the male staff all signed up with the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, with whom they served in the mud and trenches of the Western Front.. Only 6 returned of the 22 and the estate fell into disrepair and was lost in the overgrowth..
In 1990 Tim Smit who later went on to establish the Eden Garden Project had made it his passion to restore them.. Today it has become as famous, and was a pleasure to wander around.. Barn Owls and much wildlife can be seen here.. A pure joy for both garden and wildlife lovers alike.

Wonderful pic. There's something enchanting about the textures and simplicity of old interiors. That room is full of stuff and there isn't junk anywhere. My rooms are full of junk and they don't look nearly as charming. :-) Thanks for the background on the cottage and the info about the camera equipment/settings. Both are always appreciated. Photo Noob question: Is the soft-focus towards the egdes because of the focal length or the f-stop? Or am I asking the wrong question?
Yo seria tan feliz en este lugar-...... me gusta , me gusta, me gusta!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
