Description
Having a wonderful time vacationing at the end of the world.
This is an oldish one (few months old) that I didn't put up here because I had trouble contacting stock-lunar for permission to post it anywhere besides DeviantArt, because they'd closed their stock account and, mostly, I'm lazy and ignorant. I finally had the brilliant idea to send them a note on their regular account and they replied right away, saying it was okay to post it here. Thanks, lunar!
I wasn't completely satisfied with this image at first, and even though I'm still not, I like it more now. The photo of the person in gold was taken with flash so it stands out from the environment a little more than I'd prefer, but I'm not talented enough to do anything about it. The rest, I think, is okay. Hope you like it.
Big thanks to all those who contributed:
Person in white is by stock-lunar, but they've closed their stock account so I can't link to the photo. EDIT: Whoops, guess they re-opened the account but the picture isn't there anymore. Sorry.
Person in gold by Armathor-Stock
Background (sand, water, sky & door) rendered in Bryce; can't remember where the door came from, sorry whoever-you-are
Paper texture by Baltar of stock.xchng
EDIT: I read the dictionary definition of a mental-ability-related word I used in this entry, and although a lot of people will tell you it's not a slur, it sure sounds like one when you read its definition, so I took it out. Sorry about all that.
EDIT 2: It occurs to me, years later, that the Armathor-Stock photo sure looks like culture-theft. So it was not very good of me to use it here. Big mistake there, very sorry about that. EDIT 3:... actually i'm not sure because i dunno their heritage at all. so sorry about assuming that stuff too. although MY using the image is probably appropriation [i'm white], so i apologize for that also. and also sorry for assuming people's gender identities. switched pronouns to singular "they".

Nice work erland
ANY image I come across with a nod to Pink Floyd (intended or not) gets a comment from me. ;'] That said, I like it alot. The concept and the treatment are well integrated. If I had to critique, I would say that the forground sitting figure seems a bit separate from the rest of the image Blending her in a bit more via color and lighting might be good. Looking now, I think the distant figure, if made slightly transparent, might work even better as well.
Excellent work my friend!
A beautiful composition , fantastic work ! Ana
It's a lovely scene and the door is a great addition in the "think about it" department!
