Description
Captured 2/25/08, around 7:30 AM, within walking distance of my cozy lair.
Sorry, since I'm flora challenged, I don't know the name, classification, genus, or family of this beauty, displayed here in all its crepe paper glory. I'm confident several of the viewers out there can identify it right off the bat.
BTW, if it's any help, there were three separate petal color varieties of this plant in the flower bed: orange, yellow and white.
Please view full size.
And, have a most memorable weekend.

Beautiful flower whatever it is.
Looks to me like a California Poppy with it's brilliant but fragile, tissue-like petals and parsley-like leaves. Nice one, Harry.
Fantastic, excellent captured
Wonderful colors, light and stunning details. Excellent shot!!
What a beautiful sunshiny colors and wonderful shot!! :)
I say it's a poppy... There are a lot of them in bloom around town. Great, sunshiny (is that a word?) shot! Gorgeous color too.
A happy Harry poppy ....or a poppy happy Harry... or a ...never mind
I checked my Webster's New World Dictionary, and, yes, there is such a word as sunshiny.
Wonderfully vivid shot! Good thing we don't need to know the name of something to really enjoy it. Pretty flower works well enough for me. : )
Beautiful colors.Light and fantastic shot.
There are approximately a bazillion varieties of poppies, but I would guess this to be an Iceland poppy. I love this - the light is gorgeous! A fantastic capture, my friend. Glorious!
lol at sunshiny word. that what it looks like. love the color
Tara's right, that's just what it is!! And it's gorgeous!!
Wonderful fiery colors, thanks to Tara this beauty not misterious anymore, but still fantastic.
Glorious Poppy , great macro , Ana
Beautiful flower...
I've only seen poppies in the Mojave. Riding a bike with Earl Flanders handlebars at the time brings the poem to mind. "In Flander's Fields the poppies grow between the crosses row on row..."
Very pretty sunshiny poppy, Harry. Lovely sunlit colors!
Gorgeous work ......... Very well done Bravo! ROBY ;o)
Beautiful poppy.

Wonderful shot! Such a vibrant colour and seemingly so fragile a flower! Great work!
