Description
Missin What Was
I miss what was
The sound of your voice
The touch of your hand
Your laugh, your soul
I miss what we had
The love we shared
The life we had
Your presence
I miss all that
But I know it’s gone
You won’t be back
And life goes on
So now it’s
MY voice I hear
MY thoughts I share
With only myself
Someday
Someone will fill
This empty space
In my life
Someday
This empty space
Will be full of love
Joy happiness peace
Till then I miss all that
Of someone to love
Of someone to share my life
But I don’t really miss YOU
I just miss what it means
How it feels
How it is to
Love

Ooh, this is quite moving. I love it. The image that accompanies it is nicely evocative as well. It's kinda funny how that "Missing what was" sort of a vibe is such a big thing in my life. I was just talking to my friend Stas about it...and in your words here, you captured it...in a different context but the essence is the same. Great stuff!
It is strange, but you can have someone in your life and still feel the same thing. Fantastic poem! The honesty is what makes this beautiful and poignant, and easy to relate to.
Very nice Marilyn :-) and great photo! have a cool day !!! Blesses
this is very touching marilyn ,words straight from the heart it seems .if this is about you then i hope one day soon you find your love and happiness .wonderful work my friend :o) mick
Early BeeGees, "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart?" Lonely words Mari, ones I know all to well!!!!
Yep, Marilyn, life does go on, and sometimes, better alone than with someone who makes you feel alone.
I think its about time you started sorting these poems out and formalating a book, This one really is something a million or more can relate to. Millions have gone before you down that same road, and just as I hope you do, millions have come out the other side still smiling and singing. A very moving and thought provoking poem Marilyn, your very best so far I think. The image is great but pales in comparison to the prose! I stand and applaud you! Superb! Bravo!!!!!5+++++
ohhhhhhh how i too can relate... i think, too, that this is one of your best; the ones from deep feeling usually are... hang in there, my dear friend :)
This might be your best work yet. Awesome writing! You've captured something essential here. Good stuff!

Lovely and so emotional
another goodun.
wonderful done too. so cool
Beautiful, Marilyn, and very moving. I love your bold honesty and the way you come right to the point without any fancy whistles and bells. You write very powerful stuff, and your words linger on, long after i read them.
Deep and heartfelt prose, indeed, Marilyn, but permit me to add a comment I once read in a book on the subject....God must have a sense of humor, because he invented love. And, hey, I really like the image above with those great cloud formations!
I think this is by far and away your best work yet. This is amazing. I wish I would have written it myself. Beautiful beautiful work my friend :)
Glad you are back writing your prose. I love your poetry.
very sad and moving words
This touches something in all of us. So well done and universal. Glad you decided to let all those words out, and even gladder you decided to share them with us.
i just had to say wow to that. That brought a little tear to my eye. Very moving poetry.
