Description
View is from the base of the large Buddha Statue toward the Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island, Outlying Islands, China. The original temple was built in 1921 but the place has undergone considerable renovation.
The Po Lin (Precious Lotus) Monastery is a Buddhist retreat that consists of a large temple complex of mostly new buildings, with older buildings tucked behind them. This picture was taken in January 1996 and was later scanned.

I've been three times in this Monastery. In 1987, there was nothing, only a few monks and no statues at all, no big Buddha !!!
