Description
This photo shows the Union Perspective of the attack against Confederate forces holding the southern bridge across Antietam Creek. Three regiments were decimated before the 51st PA and 51st NY were able to force there way across the bridge. A intresting note is the tree to the right of the bridge is a witness tree that existed at the time of the battle.
