Description
Here's another shot from Thursday's gathering at the hospital cafeteria.
Hand held, zoom, using Trent's shoulder as a stabilizer! Trent said, "Boy, I don't know what you're going to do with THAT shot!" Oh, ye of little faith. :)
Here's the answer: I postworked the poo out of it! :) Increased the grain on the brass bits, lightened up the ceiling tiles (the light was really yellow in there), did a couple of lighting filters in Photoshop, threw a little bit of abstract-y filtering at it, cropped it ... It's amazing, how much work I can do for such a simple result! LOL!
The track lighting in there was set up in serpentine patterns all over the place. Very swoopy. All you abstract folks out there would have loved it!

Excellent postwork. Looks great.
WOW! What else can I say? This is really great!
Wow, I thought this was going to be a train!! Really nice abstract, and yeah, isn't it fun tweaking the heck out of our fotos??!!
the ole curtain rail?really unique and well done
Nice work.... Aloha
I like the color you landed on, the drop in ceiling adds a nice background texture. Super capture and great post work. Todd
Great shot.
Nice shot- quite abstract and interesting :D
Swoopy is good. I think this was an excellent use of your organic tripod, or in this case, bipod.
I'm glad you got all the poo out of this one!!!! Very swoopy indeed!!!!!
Well that's just odd... excellent...but odd. LOL So much to see when you are looking and have the time, HUH?
So Creative ..... great image ! Ana
Very nice sharp quality capture :-) seems a very clean place.
beautiful work...
lovley work turned out well, well done xx cj
It's a great composition even before all the postwork. You've got a great eye!
Very well seen! Great image!
OHH Tara! I luuuv to read what you did to it and I love the result too. It is so my passion to work with a shot to make it look nice, so I am sure you had a great time doing this, if you enjoy it like I do. HIHI! I am blabbing.
I'm never going to look at hospital cafe's again in the same way now Tara! very creative and interesting abstract. 3 cheers for postwork!
well seen
Before reading your text I thought, shower curtain, curtain rail round the bed, even mono rail. I then noticed that nothing would get past that brass anchorage. Track lighting never entered into the equation at all. Very interesting capture, you don't half come up with some things, very enjoyable things though. I would love to have seen the whole layout. Excellent original idea. Bravo!!!!!
Superb shot. Fantastic POV and postwork!
great composition!
great perspective, ceiling pictures? where your bored at this gathering?
How fun Tara nice day for a smile wonderful work sweet day to you warm hug with love, Linda
Interesting abstract shot. Like a postwork on a brass.
makes a wonderful design
Great image!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i love your explanation of how you did it tara :o)..your eye was obviously looking all the time for a shot, i know i do the same now :o)..this to me at this point in time would have had no interest which only goes to show how much more of an eye you`ve got than me. superb work my friend top marks :o) mick
This is a brilliant shot, wonderfully seen and I like the fact that you worked the poo out of it! Sometimes the smallest things lend themselves to such amazing end results, and it's always things like this that are fun to play around with! Of course, I still have "The Guardian" in my head, and when I saw it, I thought that maybe the brass head thingie contained all sorts of backchannel sensors that turn the lights on and off when you enter or leave a room...which just shows you where my mind often goes, especially when I see simple "realistic" things. I love this image though, the colors are brilliant and crisp and the fact that you don't reveal all of what you've photographed (and tweaked) you leave so much open to interpretation! Fantastic work!
