Description
I had to go back to September for this shot, another one from my backyard. This is a Viceroy Butterfly, when I took the shot I thought it was and monarch. After saving it to the computer I noticed some differences in the markings, grabbed the trusty ole ID book and found it to be a Viceroy. Thanks for taking a look and for your comments.

Well spotted and I have read some recent research which I think explains some of the facinating aspects of this and the Monarch.. The macro is a wonderful example of the Viceroy.. http://www.iscid.org/encyclopedia/Monarch_Viceroy_Puzzle
