Description
Ann and I went to the local iris farm at the end of May, and I took about a million pictures. Ummm ... okay ... maybe 300 or so. (I am perhaps prone to exaggeration.)
The big, showy, bearded iris blooms stand well above their leaves, but this more standard beauty was hiding amongst much taller greenery.
I didn't sneak around at all for this shot. They welcome photographers, and I even asked first, and told the nice woman who owns the place how to find my gallery.

Fantastic work,
Wonderful, Tara. I love iris, and this is a perfect representative. I really appreciate the color and summer mood this evokes, especially now as we're about to get hammered by a winter storm.
A very sensual flower..and you captured it beautifully !!
Par excellence in this capture of the elegant iris, resplendent in its deep purple textured petals, wonderful lighting and sharp clarity, my friend! The bloom contrasts well against the green stalks in the background.
In the past I thought iris were ugly but a few years ago I became "enlightened" and now find them to be very beautiful. This is a great picture and provides a breath of fresh air on a dreary day.
It is a lovely flower hidden away for the discerning eye.
You do such nice close up shots Tara! This is very pretty. Nice lighting and colors... Ryan-
Hi Tara going to be a nice weekend spring is around the corner and looking forward to it such wonderful colors shine like this beautiful flower sweet weekend to you warm hug with love, Linda
These little beauties just pop up everywhere, in the most unlikely places and they are just gorgeous!! This one is no exception!! I can't wait to see some color in my yard.
My favorite colors. The thought of flowers is all I have on the mind these days. It has been below 20 degrees most of the last two weeks. My way of saying Thank you Tara for the beautiful flower!
This is truly beautiful. A lovely composition. If you are really prone to exaggeration, do you also minimise, and if so, do all those, 'Sneak factor-zeros' mean you were actually in handcuffs? lol
Ohhh this is absolutely gorgeous! What an excellent shot! Well done :D

Beautiful, Tara! I'm aching for warmer weather, in more ways than one!
Wonderful colors, light and superb DOF. Excellent shot, looks very beautiful!
wonderfull shoot. the colors are perfect. I hope I will see it soon I my garden.
I have to agree with highcrow, I find Iris's to be a very sensual flower. We used to have some in the pond but they tried to take over, we planted them behind the compost bin and they went wild. Each year we hack some of them out and give them to friends and still they come back stronger than ever. I will certainly be out there with the camera this coming year. This one is a veritable beauty Tara, and the deeep purple really stands out against the broad green leaves, the lighting is fabulous. I know I have wrote a few but in a word 'Awesome'. Bravo!!!!!5+++
