Description
Hello all!
I am soon out of mossy shots, time for a walk perhaps.. :)
If any of you know what these stretchy thingys are, then please enlighten me.
They grow from the moss, so I assume they are some sort of flowers or seeds?
My memories from the exact moment in biology-class when they told us about the life cycle of mosses are not razor sharp, I have to admit. But I do recall it was quite complicated..
Take care, everyone! Weekend is soon upon us. :)

I wasn't paying attention at that moment in class, but whatever they are, they make for a great macro!!
Very cool!!! I love it!!! Very cute thingy!!! I think these are the sporophytes of the moss...:)
Ah, thank you! Sporophytes.. Kinda like flowers then..? :)
Love this wonderful close-up, look like tiny stalks growing all around ;O)
A wonderful macro shot!
Great title!
Excellent!
It is called a sporophyte. It grows from a fertilized egg and the capsule at the end of the stem (seta) contains spores. When the capsule opens, the spores float away on the air and where they land and take root, a new moss grows from it. Now you know.
Super shot of the thingys!!The result of the sex life of moss, extraordinary when you think about it!
The angle works well in this shot~
Very nice shot! I love the tall bits. Beautiful!
