Description
Captured 9/8/05 on a church parking lot, around 7:45 AM about 1.75 miles/2.816 kilometers from my residence.
Even though the auto has seen much better days, it is the very quintessence in style, and the very latest in air cooling. The tailpipe alone is a real work of art.
Better viewed full size.
Have a frenetic Friday!

One of the best I've seen around in a while... It's funny what people do to customize their car! Great shot.
A Baja bug with a single Solex and a fairly low but not type two shroud. Are those Armstrong Norseman tires?
cool shot of this type of car that was a real good seller for a long time. wonderful
My first car was a VW Bug. It wasn't half as fun as this one, though it went for some pretty crazy rides not meant for such a tiny little vehicle!!
Great shot.
Wow now that is some car alright, great capture Harry, thank you - hugs Jane xx
My first shot at learning a stick shift was in my husband's VW beetle. Seeing the back exposed brings back fond memories! (Tailpipe is def. a convo piece!)
Interesting Tail Pipe. Excellent shot and find. Aloha
Great bug and pic!
Sure this is a fascinating find Harry, we don't see wonders like this today.
30 or so years ago, I had a friend with a VW Bug. We used to go out "stump-jumpin'." A fascinating activity, I assure you, but not something I would enjoy today. The idea is to drive through the woods, over rocks and dips and stumps and whatnot, as rapidly as possible. ("Rapid" is a relative term.) One bumps around in the vehicle quite a bit while so engaged. Thanks for the memories!
These things have become a part of Americana..This was the really cool setup in past years... and any car shot is a good one..:)
nice capture...
