Mars Colony 1 "After the Storm"
Mars has massive very Powerful Storms because of the Planets Atmosphere huge Tornado funnel Twisters ca arise and create massive damage to the landscape. This is just after such a storm and you see the Colony is just now thinking of digging out after the huge Tornado Storm that shook the region. As we push out further into our solar system, we will find new challenges and yes, lose people on the way to explore new Worlds and new Life elsewhere in the Universe.
I just finished watching the Mars series on the Science channel. So was greatly Inspired, that and this is for a Calender Contest I am going to enter I think.
The Models I created in 3D Studio Max, then Exported to XSI due to the export of .obj files work better if I use XSI mtl's and the .obj exporter instead of Max, not sure why Max's sucks, that way, but it does. Then I Exported out to TGD2 Deep version for final creation, Staging and rendering. But I do have issues with the 16 mesh/texture rule at the moment that tgd2 is limiting us to. On the other hand I have had to get pretty creative to get simple models in that look not so simple and get the mapping/modeling to look good. Interesting Challenge, but think I will do the rest of the Mars series in Vue I think.

Fantastic image! I love the sense of mood you've captured here. Martian dust storms are often enormous and impressive enough to actually be seen from Earth with low powered telescopes. I love the details in this image and the sheer scale of the colony structures themselves. You put a lot of work in this and it shows. Great stuff.
